The duo founded MMAC Design Associates in 2013, which is soon developing into one of the most reputable hospitality design firms in the region. They have designed in various capacities for over 40 hotels. Having worked intimately with several of the premium hotel operating chains they are well versed with the intricacies involved in the Design & Operation of Hotels.
Christian honed his skills from the foundations of interior craftsmanship rising to the ranks of senior management. After an early education in hotel administration, he obtained a degree in Interior Design in 1989 and later qualified as Interior Architect in Geneva, Switzerland. Christian Merieau relocated to Dubai 2005 as Managing Director for well know international design firm. He brings a wealth of experience of over 30 years of designing inetrnational projects to his position of Managing Director of MMAC. He was listed on several occasions as one of the most influential designers in the Middle East by Commercial Interior Design magazine. He has also helped drive the growth of APID, the Association of Professional Interior Designers since 2009 and currently holds the role of Executive Board member.
With close to 2 decades of hands-on experience in Interior Design and Architecture, Anil's portfolio includes the design of a variety of projects in the hospitality, corporate and retail sectors. Throughout the years he has successfully carried out projects in Asia, the Middle East and Europe. His work stands testimony to his long standing passion for creative narration and his unshakable belief that every project holds within it a story to be told.
Anil is a qualified architect with a masters in Interior Design from Domus Academy (Milan).
Prior to founding MMAC, he headed up the design department for a Geneva based firm that specialized in hospitality projects in Europe & the Middle East. Being an ardent follower of design journalism, he has written occasionally for magazines like Middle East Interiors, Commercial ID, Design 51 and the Dubai Real Times.
